I am a marketing and market research consultant based in Northumberland.
I have >15 years' experience working with some of the UK’s biggest organisations including Co-op Food, Nationwide Building Society, Shop Direct, Institute of Mechanical Engineers as well as many SMEs here in the North East of England and around the world.
I have a scientific background and believe marketing should be approached in the same manner – observe and experiment, test and learn.
I describe myself as a strategic pragmatist and approach my work in that manner. Taking the best approaches to planning, strategy and execution from big businesses and applying this in the resource-short reality of SMEs.
My focus is on identifying customer segments for your business where you can win. I will then define a channel neutral strategy for success taking the best approach to maximise your resource and budget.
Outside of my consultancy most of my time is taken up playing with my two young daughters. When I get the opportunity I love riding my bike, open water swimming, following Newcastle United and brewing my own booze. I'm a parish councillor for the village of Stocksfield and a Board Director of the Tyne Rivers Trust.
